Role of the Ombudsman
Concerns or complaints received from a consumer or their advocate that involve the actions of an agency, facility or program operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities may be reviewed by the ombudsman. When consumers have been unsuccessful in obtaining a resolution at the facility or departmental level, the ombudsman may conduct a review and will attempt to facilitate a resolution in a timely manner.
The ombudsman will act independently of any state official, department or agency in receiving, investigating and attempting to resolve consumer complaints.
